A friend and I took a little trip to Charleston, WV and had a little walk about to shoot a few shots. We were able to get some interesting shots and could have spent all evening doing more, but after 3 hrs, I was ready to quit.
Hope you enjoy and I learned a lot with the photowalk with the club the other night and loved doing it again in a new area.

Our local camera club had a photowalk last night in Huntington, WV and we had a good time shooting and talking, mostly talking I think, but it was fun to see and listen to the others in the club shoot shots and say what they were trying to do.
Here are a couple of shots from last night and you can see more on my picasa web album.

Ran out yesterday evening to try to shoot a couple of shots using a flash with a soft box on it to do some experimenting with macro. I had a couple of really open tulips that were giving me a good shot inside, but the hard part was the wind.
These were shot with a Canon 580EXII flash and a Gary Fong flash head and a soft cloth over that to diffuse the light. Used the 5D with 24-105 lens and a 36mm extensiton tube.

After taking the kids to the Community Easter Egg Hunt, I was walking back to the house when I saw the water lily and tried to get a shot. All I had was a 24-105 lens with me, so I will try again later with the 400mm. I was pleased with the results as i stook in the water and leaned out trying to get as close as possible. I sure hope there are no gators in this pond.

I was out shooting some pictures in the neighborhood today and found a nice pond with some interesting things to shoot for some Macro shots. I used my old standby 100-400 IS Canon lens and a 2X teleconverter to get the up close and personal shots. I also tried to use some extension tubes, but found it was hard to get the right distance for the shot.
