Had to go to Virginia for family matters and to get over the trip I did some geocaching. While I was doing this, I found some interesting things to photograph. I didn't have the best light sometimes, but I made a GPS note as to where these were and will go back sometime if I am in the area at the right time to get some better shots maybe.

Most were old trucks and houses that had some character, I just wish I could have gotten closer to them, but since they were on private property and I didn't have my 100-400 lens, these will just have to do.

Out checking the area for any sign of activity as the temperatures are dropping and very windy. Very little going on, but did get an unusual bird for the area. It was an Oystercacher, I have never seen one in the area and a pair were at the boat ramp I like to check out when I am around. I plan on leaving for WV tomorrow or Thursday and will return in April when hopefully more activity will be here.

I went out today after a bad storm hoping to find some birds blown in from the ocean, well I was fooled. The bird life is really not out right now, just the common birds, so I just practiced some shooting following birds and trying to pan with them.

Have not found anything to really take a shot of that made me want to go after.
I did find some pictures of some things in the backyard and near the house. The weather is suppose to change tonight, so maybe some things will be pushed in from the ocean.

Got down to Florida for a little while and took some images today. I hope to get them posted in the next few days. Was really shocked by the lack of birds at the Alligator Farm and at the ocean, but did get some good sunset pictures. I hope the situation improves for wildlife, I wanted some shots of certain birds, but none are around.

Been playing with some images to keep from being too bored until I leave for Florida and go shoot some at my favorite places for a few days. I will post some from Florida if I get to go, back is causing me a lot of trouble right now. I want to try my new camera out. I got a Canon 50D to shoot faster shots to go with my 5D I use now.

Here are a couple of images I shot a while back and just now getting around to looking at them. I like the natural backlight of my granddaughter and the sunrise at Monument Valley is what you expect from that region

If you have not seen or used the new adobe CS4, you are missing a really great tool.
I have been playing with the content aware scaling and it kicks butt. It allows you to remove dead space or add space to your image without ruining the image, you can protect areas, skin tones, etc. Check it out at www.russellbrown.com

Since the weather has been blah and I have not been anywhere to take images lately, I have been doing more playing with past images from some of the trips. I am trying to get a handle on some of the finer points of photoshop to make the images look more like what I saw in the camera.
