Here is a drive by shot I did of a factory at night. Handheld from the car ISO 200 F/4.0 1/25 67mm

Trying to get a handle on some different types of shooting, and keep wanting to go back to my old style. Maybe I feel more at ease with that. Here is an image from a recent shoot in Huntington that I liked for color and texture.

This is getting to be very frustrating, trying to get a good startrail. It takes so long to shoot then so long to write to card you run out of power. Also, the ISO has been hard to get right. This is only a 16 min shot, which was a test and it was wrong.

These are 2 of my STARS

I am outside as I type this trying to do some startrails, boy are they tough. Taking the shot is hard, to get the right exposure, time, etc. but then you have to wait for the camera to save what you shot. So far I have ran out of power before I get a long enough exposure to make what I want, but I will keep trying. I have a plan if it fails tonight. FAKE IT.

As a follow up and the fact I was bored, I took a walk in Milton to take some pictures like the recent Huntington walk. I always wanted to fly 3 planes in my life, the Spitfire, P-51 mustang and the F-86 Saber. So, since Milton has one, I had to get a picture. This is a composite of 2 shots to get the body and nose without all the wires and clutter.

Here is a shot from the Huntington Photowalk. I loved the look of this old building and the color in the windows, but you had to be at a certain angle to see the color.

This is a Royal Tern I took in St. Augustine, Florida. It was shot with a 50D with a 100-400 IS Canon lens @ 100mm f/18 1/640th -2/3 EV ISO 200 Spot Metering

Went out last night to shoot some night shots and got this image of a plane leaving Charleston as I was shooting a time shot of the traffic.
Shot was F/16 8.0sec ISO 200 focal length of 28mm

Was trying to get an idea for the B/W photos for the Aug. club meeting, and kept drawing a blank. So, I just started to play with old photos of our trip to New England.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Here is a picture I took in our front yard in Florida. I shot it at f/4 1/500 ISO 200 -1/3 EV lens was 24-105 @ 75mm. Loved the sliver of moon above the trees, just wish I had been able to make it larger in the shot, but no way.

I took this image because I loved the symetry of the zebra's and the lines of the animals playing with the light, but really I just liked the look of the animals.

On the way back to the car following the Kelby Photowalk with the camera club, I saw this picture. Now, I would normally just walk by something like this, but thanks to my friend Mark, I am trying to see things I would not be looking for. This was taken just for the fun of it.

Here is a shot of the Chicago Transit we rode from O'Hare to downtown Chicago. This was shot with a point and shoot camera since I did not bring my SLR with me on this quick trip and workshop.

After the camera club meeting last night Tim and I ran by Marshall U. to shoot a few shots of the campus at night. Here is a shot of the Memorial Fountain. It was taken with a Canon 5D and a Canon 17-40 mm lens. Camera settings were ISO 200 f/4 1/5th with -2/3 EV

Hope you enjoy the picture.

Here is a composite image of a Mt. Lion jumping and this was not shot in a zoo, it was shot in an open area with lions who looked at you as if you were a meal. The jump was about 12 feet I would guess and he made it look so easy. I have another idea for this shot I am planning on doing.

This was shot in the Teton Valley of Wyoming while I was fishing. Just was captivated by the storm clouds and colors of Fall in the west.

Just a couple of images of boats showing reflections and color. Just shots I liked and wanted to share

Monday, July 13, 2009

I took this on the way out of Epcot after the fireworks. I loved the colors and lights. This was handheld at ISO 400 F/4.0 1/25 with center metering.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Loved the color of this City Abstract.

I am not a portrait person, but she is such a good one to practice on. This is like the eye of the storm, it is a short rest between explosions of energy and chaos.

Here is a image I was talking to Mark and Mike about and what I might do to it. Didn't have the right image to work with, but this was a good idea of where I was heading.

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Mark, Mike and I went on a walk along the planned route for the July 18th Kelby Photo Walk. We were trying to get an idea of the time and picture ideas for the walk.
Here are a couple I did just for the fun of it.

Here is an image I was playing with for the camera club competition this week, but didn't enter it because I could never get it to print the way I wanted it to look.
This was shot in Richwood at a community park by the river. I just thought it suited the Flag Catagory and the 4th of July.

Just liked this shot and wanted to share it everyone.

Took this picture of a log that looks like a dragon or sea monster. I am just now getting around to doing anything with it. Hope you enjoy what nature can create.
